Sample Sunday: OZ Naturals Ancient Orient Rice Enzyme Scrub

Today's Sample Sunday is a scrub by OZ Naturals. I received this product from OZ Naturals via Brandbacker in exchange for an honest review.

The Ancient Orient Rice Enzyme Scrub claims to be a natural dermafoliant made with natural ingredients and no harsh chemical (safe for all skin types). The scrub contains 6 ingredients: bamboo stem powder, sucrose, green tea extract, B5 and Thioctic Acid. The product came in a little white bottle as seen above and the product itself is a fine-milled white powder.

Product instruction: After cleansing skin, apply a nickel size amount of powder into the palm of hand. Add in a small amount of water and mix together with powder to create a thin paste. Gently scrub face in a circular motion for several minutes, and allow scrub to sit on skin for at least 5 minutes (allowing the lactic acid time to penetrate the skin). Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

The first time I tried the product, I followed the instruction and it was just a mess. The second time I wet the center of my palm first and then poured in the product and it mixed a lot better.

I applied it like my regular scrub and left it on for about 5 minutes. It honestly felt like rubbing fine sugar on my face. It's not too abrasive which is great for my sensitive skin. My only complaint is that because the powder is so fine it took me longer to completely wash the product off my face. I followed the scrub with my usual toner and OZ Vitamin C Serum which I've also reviewed. The scrub should be safe to use 2-3 times a week without causing irritation. I've used it twice per week for the past two weeks and I have to say I'm really loving the scrub. My skin feels really soft and the combination of the ingredients in the scrub + Vitamin C serum has definitely made my combination-oily skin a lot more manageable this summer.

It's a little bit on the pricier side $24.95 but I think this product will last me a good long while since I'm mixing it myself. If I don't feel like applying it to my whole face I can always just mix a little bit and focus on my T-Zone and cheeks.

As always, thanks for reading!

Until next time,
